Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Commisioning Agent (CX) - Healthcare in Charlotte, NC. The Healthcare Commissioning Agent (CxA) manages the complete lifecycle of complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty controls systems within acute care and medical environments. This role acts as the primary point of accountability for system verification, ensuring 24/7/365 operational uptime and strict regulatory compliance from design-assist through final owner turnover.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of project-specific Commissioning Plans from early design-assist through final occupancy and warranty phases.
- Perform design and constructability reviews of specifications and submittals to ensure commissioning feasibility and operational maintainability.
- Conduct regular site walks to witness installations and verify static testing, including duct testing, pipe flushing, and megger testing.
- Author and execute detailed Pre-Functional Checklists (PFCs) and Functional Performance Tests (FPTs) for integrated healthcare systems.
- Manage the project Commissioning Issues Log and collaborate with project managers and trade partners to drive technical resolutions.
- Verify specialized healthcare systems including medical gas, airborne infection isolation rooms (AIIR), and protective environment (PE) rooms.
- Coordinate and witness owner training sessions and perform detailed reviews of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Ensure all systems meet strict compliance frameworks including ASHRAE Guideline 0 & 1.1, ASHE, and FGI Guidelines.
- Compile the final comprehensive Commissioning Report for delivery to the facility owner.
- Bridge the gap between design engineers, specialty trade partners, and field operations to ensure system integrity.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of dedicated commissioning experience focused on acute care hospitals, surgical suites, or complex clinical laboratories.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent military/field experience).
- Deep technical knowledge of HVAC pressurization cascades, OR laminar flow hoods, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Strong familiarity with Joint Commission (TJC) requirements and NFPA 99/101 life safety codes.
- Proficiency with commissioning software platforms including CxAlloy, Procore, and Bluebeam.
- Demonstrated ability to brief owners and design teams on technical system risks and mitigation strategies.
- Experience with BIM coordination and design-assist reviews in a healthcare construction environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular visits to active construction sites requiring navigation of uneven terrain and ladders.
- Ability to work in various environmental elements including heat, cold, and rain depending on project location.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, and respirators.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for documentation and test script authoring.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers for inspections and software interface use.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $130,000 to $200,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
