Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating Food Services Department operations.
Coordinate food service activities with Nursing, Environmental Services, Activities, Social Services, and other departments.
Supervise and support dietary staff, ensuring adherence to department policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Schedule Food Services staff and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
Monitor meal preparation to ensure food is served on time, at the proper temperature, in the correct quantities, and according to approved menus and therapeutic diets.
Update daily menus, meal tickets, diet changes, selective menus, new admissions, and re-admissions.
Process new diet orders and diet changes received from Nursing.
Maintain accurate departmental records, reports, logs, and inventory documentation.
Submit accident and incident reports to Human Resources within 24 hours.
Monitor cleanliness and sanitation throughout food preparation, storage, and service areas.
Ensure staff comply with sanitation regulations, infection control practices, and dress code policies.
Assist with ordering food, supplies, and equipment while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
Support purchasing, inventory control, and cost management initiatives.
Participate in state and federal surveys and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
Assist in developing and implementing safety procedures for equipment and department operations.
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, long-term care facility, or other healthcare setting.
Training or experience in food service management, cost control, dietary services, and nutrition.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and healthcare dietary regulations is preferred.
