Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform specialized neurological testing and monitoring to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological conditions. Your expertise in neurophysiology, electrophysiology, and patient care will contribute to accurate diagnostic evaluations and improved patient outcomes. Responsibilities
- Conduct neurodiagnostic tests including electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and other electrophysiology procedures to evaluate brain, nerve, and muscle function.
- Operate and maintain advanced neurological devices and monitoring systems with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patient vital signs continuously during testing, ensuring safety and comfort throughout procedures.
- Interpret diagnostic test results accurately, documenting findings clearly for review by neurologists and other medical professionals.
- Assist with specialized testing protocols in neurocritical care settings, including Level I Trauma Centers and Level II Trauma Centers, supporting emergency medicine teams.
- Ensure strict compliance with medical terminology standards, safety protocols, and infection control procedures during all testing activities.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care, ensuring effective communication of diagnostic information.
Skills
- Proficiency in performing neurodiagnostic procedures such as EEG, EMG, electroencephalography, electrophysiology testing, and neurology diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and neurological devices used in diagnostic evaluation.
- Experience operating medical equipment related to neurodiagnostic testing within high-acuity environments like trauma centers or emergency departments.
- Ability to interpret complex electrophysiology data accurately for diagnostic purposes.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring systems and vital signs management during procedures.
- Excellent understanding of aseptic techniques to prevent infection during invasive or sterile procedures.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the nervous system and the ability to adapt testing protocols based on clinical needs.
