The Senior Material Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating the flow of materials throughout the facility to support efficient manufacturing and warehouse operations. This role oversees shipping and receiving activities, inventory accuracy, freight invoice processing, ERP transactions, production support, and logistics coordination. The Senior Material Support Specialist serves as a key liaison between production, planning, customer service, vendors, and carriers while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

Follow all company policies and procedures related to workplace safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Coordinate daily material flow to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.

Process, review, approve, code, and upload freight invoices through the company's freight management system and SAP.

Generate and maintain SAP reports to track projects, inventory, and material movement while analyzing data using Microsoft Excel.

Complete accurate ERP transactions for shipping, receiving, inventory movements, and order closeouts.

Receive inbound shipments, safely unload deliveries, verify materials, and complete goods receipt transactions.

Coordinate daily shipping activities by prioritizing orders, preparing shipping schedules, and assigning warehouse tasks.

Prepare domestic and international shipping documentation, including export and hazardous material paperwork, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Support the Production Planning team by assisting with planning activities based on production priorities and workload.

Participate in physical inventories and cycle count activities to maintain inventory accuracy.

Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, freight claims, inventory issues, and material flow challenges.

Coordinate preventive maintenance activities for warehouse equipment and material handling equipment.

Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to ensure uninterrupted material flow and on-time deliveries.

Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and workplace organization.

Collaborate with production, planning, customer service, vendors, logistics providers, and other Xylem locations to support operational objectives.

Assist the Facility Manager with facility maintenance coordination, workplace organization, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to internal and external customer needs.

Support additional operational projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is a plus.

Experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving, logistics, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.

Experience preparing export documentation and hazardous material shipping paperwork.

Knowledge of inventory management, production planning support, and logistics processes.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.

The hourly pay range for this position is $31.00 to $33.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on several factors, including skills, experience, and work location.
