Dollhouse Agency is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our in-house fabrication team. This production-focused role operates our Laguna SmartShop CNC Router to manufacture scenic, retail, experiential, television, film, and custom fabrication components. The ideal candidate understands woodworking, CNC machining, material handling, and production workflow and works closely with drafting, project management, and fabrication teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the Laguna CNC Router daily.
- Load and machine plywood, MDF, hardwoods, plastics, ACM, HDU and related materials.
- Verify VCarve Pro/Rhino files and machine setup.
- Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
- Label and organize completed parts.
- Perform preventive maintenance and maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all shop safety procedures.
Required Qualifications: 2+ years operating CNC routers; experience with Laguna CNC machines preferred; proficiency with VCarve Pro; Rhino preferred; ability to read shop drawings; understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and vacuum table systems; ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in NYC-based fabrication or production environments
- Familiarity with VCarve, Fusion 360, Aspire, or similar CAM software
- Millwork, furniture, or architectural fabrication background
- Ability to assist with light programming edits or setup optimization
- Forklift or shop equipment experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 75 lbs, and work safely around machinery in an active shop environment.
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
