American Alloy Fabrication, Inc. (AAFI) is a well-established contract manufacturer specializing in precision mechanical assemblies and sheet metal enclosures. We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Press Brake Operator. This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of CNC controlled press brakes in a just-in-time fabrication shop using state-of-the-art, modern equipment in a climate-controlled environment.
- Applicants are required to take a hands-on test reading drawings and operating a press brake. DO NOT apply if unable to perform these essential duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Select correct tooling, load, set-up and operate a CNC press brake.
- Interpret and utilize engineering drawings and work order instructions.
- Fabricate and problem solve to produce quality parts.
- Observe, report and document production and quality control issues.
- Perform equipment preventative maintenance at operator level.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- Strong sheet metal forming skills and fabrication background in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of fabrication and press brake operations including basic set up.
- Working knowledge of metal bend allowances, dimensional measuring and use of precision measurement tools.
- Ability to identify various types of metals and metal forming characteristics.
- Good competency in basic shop math.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Solid orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- Experienced in working under pressure and taking initiative to meet team expectations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 40 lbs. frequently.
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
- Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 10 hours per day.
- Ability to work in a 55 – 88-degree Fahrenheit work environment.
- Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing & vision protection.
