American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with 2+ years of experience for a 12-hour night shift position at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, with floating requirements across a regional hospital network.

Large acute care hospital (874 licensed beds) designated as a Level I Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center

Resource team role providing respiratory care to patients throughout the entire facility, including ED, ICU, PCU, and general medical floors

12-hour night shifts (1900–0700), 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation

Floating is required across Region 1 facilities, which may include Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, any freestanding ED within the region, and the Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) — candidates who are not agreeable to floating should not apply

Epic EMR — experience required

Ventilator experience required (IPPV/NIPPV)

75% of holidays must be worked

RRT or CRT national certification required

Active NC state licensure required — license required if applicable

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required

Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience in a resource/float team capacity

Experience across ED, ICU, PCU, and general medical floor settings required

IPPV/NIPPV ventilator experience required

Minimum 12 months of core respiratory therapy experience, with most recent experience within the last year

Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Former employees who held a permanent position must have been separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year before being considered

Orientation includes a general hospital NEO session plus 2 days of departmental orientation
