Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of production machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing emergency and scheduled repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of duties to install and maintain production machines and equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to troubleshoot and repair production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, conduct tests and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and change tooling.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, or unusual conditions to Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
- Assists the Facilities Technician as needed.
- Work with the Safety/Environmental department as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of installed parts, repair history, and equipment condition.
- Other tasks or duties as assigned by the Company or Maintenance Manager.
Skills & Experience:
- 3 years or more of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical (high and low voltage), mechanical and industrial skills with PLC experience and HVAC.
- Knowledge and understanding of manuals, schematics, and welding of all materials.
- Experience with hydraulics, cylinders, valves and solenoids, air compressors and air movement
- Experience with general electrical controls
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to be flexible and multi-task
- Bilingual Spanish/English-read and write, a plus
Education:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
