Overview
Alger Pediatrics is seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Phone Triage Nurse to join our dedicated team. This in-person position plays a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and families by assess urgent and non-urgent pediatric health concerns, offering clinical guidance, and coordinating care with our providers.
Duties
- Assess patient symptoms and concerns via telephone using sound clinical judgment.
- Provide appropriate triage, education, and home care instructions based on established clinical protocols.
- Determine the urgency of patient needs and coordinate appointments as appropriate with the guidance of our providers.
- Accurately document all patient interactions within the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, fellow nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure excellent patient care.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a family-centered approach in every patient interaction.
Requirements
- Current RN or LPN license in the State of Michigan.
- Previous pediatric or phone triage experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent typing and computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
