Jacobs is seeking a mid-level Transportation Drainage Engineer to join our Dallas or Fort Worth office, supporting highway, bridge, and rail projects across Texas and other states. This role is ideal for an experienced drainage professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is motivated to grow into task leadership and, over time, broader leadership responsibilities.
In this position, you will contribute to the planning, analysis, and design of transportation drainage systems while working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway and bridge engineers. As you develop in the role, you will take on increasing responsibility for task management, coordination, and mentoring of junior staff, supporting both project delivery and team growth.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects.
- Conducts drainage analysis and design per the requirements of the project and various transportation and public works agencies.
- Support the efforts in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
- Prepares projects specific drainage / hydraulic reports and technical memorandum.
- Provide hydraulic impact analysis for cross drainage structures and incorporate the results in the design with other disciplines (roadway and bridge).
- Assist with mentoring and technical development of junior engineers
