Job Summary
We are seeking an Architectural Designer to join a growing retail interiors team in New York City. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically focused professional who enjoys producing detailed construction documentation, coordinating consultants, and supporting projects through all phases of project delivery.
You will work closely with project managers, consultants, and contractors on a variety of retail projects, ensuring accurate and coordinated documentation from design development through construction completion.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct architectural site surveys and document existing conditions
- Produce detailed and accurate drawing packages across schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases
- Coordinate with external consultants to develop complete and coordinated construction documents suitable for landlord approval, authority approval, and general contractor bidding
- Support project managers with construction documentation coordination and approvals
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and contractor RFIs
- Attend weekly virtual project meetings throughout construction
- Conduct construction site visits and punch list reviews at project completion
Requirements
- 3 to 8 years of professional experience, preferably within retail projects
- Expert proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and Adobe Design products is a plus
- Working knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and industry standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, detail rich project environment
