Position title: Training SME
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Clearance required: SECRET
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Design, deliver, and evaluate Initial Qualification Training (IQT) programs aligned to operational objectives and mission requirements; ensure courses meet established standards and timelines.

Instruct classroom and practical/hands on sessions; develop and validate curricula, lesson plans, training aids, and assessments that support operators, maintainers, payload specialists, and mission commanders across multiple UxS platforms.

Coordinate training schedules, facilities, ranges/labs, equipment, simulators, and student administration to enable seamless execution of training activities.

Analyze training data and outcomes; recommend continuous improvements to content, delivery methods, and evaluation frameworks to enhance mission readiness and operational effectiveness.

Create customized courses and learning paths specific to platform capabilities, mission profiles, and role based competencies.

Provide training to Government personnel to enable independent training delivery; develop T3 materials, coach instructors, and support certification processes.

Compliance & Standards: Apply applicable training standards, policies, and best practices; maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with contract and regulatory requirements.

Deliverables:

Training Reports: Session summaries, metrics, after action reviews (AARs), and recommendations.

Student Administration: Attendance records, evaluation results, proficiency tracking, and certification logs.

Courseware & Materials: Syllabi, lesson plans, instructor guides, student handbooks, simulator/lab checklists, and assessment instruments.

Train the Trainer Package: course materials, instructor checklists, and certification records supporting Government led training.

Minimum 5 years of experience operating platforms (UAV, USV, UUV, UGV).

Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining UxS platforms (UAV, USV, UUV, UGV).

Able to demonstrate understanding of operations.

Able to demonstrate understanding of maintenance procedures, safety protocols, relevant regulations.

Familiarity with adult learning principles.

Familiarity with DoD instructional systems design models.
-
Completed and current Basic Life Support (BLS - AED and CPR).
-
Fully understands CNSWCINST 1500.1A NSW High Risk Training Safety.
