Senior Commercial HVAC Technician – Chiller & Controls Experience

Position Overview
SNC Heating & Air is seeking a seasoned Commercial HVAC Technician with strong experience servicing chillers, complex HVAC systems, electronic controls, and electrical components.
This position is intended for an experienced technician who can independently diagnose difficult system problems, communicate professionally with commercial customers, and complete repairs correctly and efficiently. The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship and is comfortable working with advanced commercial equipment and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems
- Diagnose electronic controls, sensors, relays, contactors, circuit boards, and related components
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Service rooftop units, split systems, package units, air handlers, pumps, cooling towers, and related equipment
- Troubleshoot building automation and HVAC control systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment failures
- Provide customers with clear explanations of system conditions and recommended repairs
- Accurately document service calls, findings, repairs, and materials used
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle
- Follow company procedures and all applicable safety requirements
- Participate in an on-call rotation when required
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience
- Demonstrated experience servicing and troubleshooting chillers
- Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical and electronic control systems
- Ability to independently diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- EPA Universal Certification
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in Florida weather conditions
- Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills
- Dependable, professional, and able to work with limited supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 or more years of commercial HVAC experience
- Experience with building automation systems and direct digital controls
- Factory training or certifications for major chiller manufacturers
- Experience with Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin, or similar commercial equipment
- Experience with variable-frequency drives, pumps, cooling towers, and hydronic systems
- Technical school or recognized HVAC apprenticeship training
- OSHA certification
