Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety procedures
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, especially for those with dementia or cognitive disabilities
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and repositioning
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care, geriatrics, and dementia care techniques
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Strong communication skills for engaging positively with residents and team members
- Proficiency in safe patient lifting practices and use of assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working in home & community care settings or long-term care environments is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks with care and precision
