We are seeking a Molecular Biology Associate to support laboratory research and development through molecular biology experimentation, data analysis, and scientific documentation. This contract opportunity is ideal for candidates with hands-on molecular biology experience, including Digital Droplet PCR (ddPCR), who enjoy troubleshooting scientific challenges and contributing to cross-functional research initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and monitor laboratory experiments using established scientific methods and standard operating procedures.
- Perform molecular biology techniques, including Digital Droplet PCR (ddPCR) and other molecular assays.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations.
- Document experimental procedures and results in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) while maintaining data integrity.
- Recommend solutions to technical challenges and support continuous process improvements.
- Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and experimental issues as needed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, and work areas while following laboratory safety, ISO, QSR, and OSHA requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects and product development initiatives.
- Stay current with scientific literature, emerging technologies, and best practices in molecular biology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline required.
- Master's degree in a related scientific field with relevant industry experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Digital Droplet PCR (ddPCR) is required.
- Experience working with amino acids is required.
- Ability to independently plan, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments.
- Strong analytical, technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience maintaining accurate laboratory documentation using electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) is preferred.
- Comfortable discussing experimental failures, lessons learned, and approaches to troubleshooting scientific challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an industry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device laboratory.
- Experience troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation.
- Knowledge of ISO, QSR, GLP, and laboratory quality systems.
- Experience leading laboratory projects or supporting cross-functional scientific teams.
Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
