Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Electrical Superintendent to lead and oversee electrical construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring that all electrical work aligns with project specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will coordinate teams, manage schedules, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Your expertise will drive the successful execution of complex electrical installations across diverse construction sites, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical crews on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans, schematics, and safety protocols.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software to coordinate daily activities and milestones.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify installation procedures and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Manage procurement and allocation of materials, including conduit, wiring, switchgear, and other electrical components.
- Conduct quality control inspections using tools such as ohmmeters to verify proper wiring and system functionality.
- Oversee safety compliance by enforcing OSHA standards and conducting regular safety meetings and site audits.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to monitor progress, manage budgets, and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work progress, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and daily reports using construction management software like Bluebeam or ProCore.
- Supervise subcontractors and tradespeople ensuring work is completed efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Facilitate communication across teams to ensure seamless project execution from initial planning through commissioning.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction management with a focus on electrical systems; supervisory experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical codes applicable to heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Primavera P3; experience with HeavyBid is a plus for cost estimating purposes.
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating software and contracts management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately; proficiency with Ohmmeters for testing electrical circuits.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to construction safety; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
- Skilled in managing budgets, procurement processes, and resource allocation effectively.
- Excellent supervision skills with the ability to lead teams confidently while fostering collaboration.
- Construction site experience in large-scale projects involving pipelines or heavy civil infrastructure preferred. Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
