Immediate full-time job opening (40-50 hours/week) for a skilled CNC & Manual setup/machinist.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up & operate manual machine milling machines & lathes
- Operate & program vertical & horizontal mills
- Create & edit CNC programs using G and M codes
- Troubleshoot & make adjustments to CNC programs when necessary
- Review & understand written specifications for each job, including geometric dimensions and tolerances
- Hold very close tolerances (±0.001")
- Machine & lathe various products according to drawing details & special job instructions
- Utilize various measuring tools to verify accuracy of machined product
- Inspect & measure machined products and document as required
- Inspect parts using micrometers for checking diameters, lengths, depths, grooves, slots, and drill dimensions
- Perform other duties in the plant as requested
- Follow safety protocols at all times
- Programming Solidworks & AutoCAD is a plus
- Perform layouts, set up & operate conventional machine tools as needed
- Set up & maintain machine tools: Planer mill, vertical turret lathe, CNC Mill
- Experience in machining pump components such as cases, impellers, wear-rings, bearing housings, shafts
- Operate forklift & crane
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years experience in a job shop environment
- Ability to perform setups and machine large precise parts efficiently
- Ability to read & understand drawings/prints
- Must be able to utilize micrometers, calipers and scales
- Detail-oriented & able to follow precise instructions
- Problem-solving skills & ability to troubleshoot issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience with setting up & maintaining vertical turret lathe
- Experience programming with MAZATROL
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift & carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment
- Perform most duties in a standing position with intermittent walking, standing, bending, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
- Work in temperature zones that may include hot environments for extended periods & may include work in environments where dust is present
