About us:
Haus is a luxury furnished-apartment hospitality company operating 30+ day residences across NYC. We manage high-end apartments for guests, owners, and institutional real estate partners, and we need a dependable, hands-on field operator who can be our eyes, ears, and problem-solver inside the apartments.
This is a do-it-all field role for someone practical, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable moving between guest-facing service, apartment inspections, light setup work, and general troubleshooting. The ideal person has strong judgment, good communication, and the ability to make a luxury apartment feel clean, complete, and guest-ready.
Responsibilities
Guest Check-Ins & Guest Support
- Meet guests at apartments for check-ins when needed.
- Provide a warm, professional first impression on behalf of Haus.
- Walk guests through access, building details, WiFi, appliances, HVAC, and key apartment features.
- Troubleshoot basic guest issues in person.
- Communicate clearly with the Haus team before, during, and after visits.
Apartment Inspections
- Conduct detailed inspections before guest arrival, after guest move-out, and during stays as needed.
- Check cleanliness, furniture condition, supplies, linens, appliances, WiFi, keys, lights, HVAC, plumbing, and overall apartment presentation.
- Take clear photos and document issues thoroughly.
- Flag maintenance, cleaning, staging, or inventory problems before they become guest issues.
- Confirm each apartment meets Haus standards before check-in.
Apartment Setup & Turnover Support
- Help prepare furnished apartments for new guests.
- Make beds, restage furniture, adjust décor, organize supplies, and reset the apartment layout.
- Replace missing or low supplies.
- Assist with new apartment launches, furniture deliveries, unpacking, setup, and final readiness checks.
- Coordinate with cleaners, movers, vendors, and building staff when needed.
Jack-of-All-Trades Field Work
- Handle small fixes and practical tasks where possible, including:
- Tightening loose screws, handles, toilet seats, and fixtures
- Replacing batteries, light bulbs, remote controls, and basic household items
- Basic unclogging or troubleshooting
- Moving small furniture or décor items
- Picking up or dropping off keys, supplies, linens, packages, or small furnishings
- Identify when something requires a professional vendor and escalate appropriately.
- Serve as a reliable on-the-ground problem-solver across Haus apartments.
Requirements
- Based in NYC and able to travel between apartments throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn.
- Broad availability, including some evenings or weekends when needed.
- Comfortable using Slack, phone, text, checklists, and basic mobile apps.
- Highly responsive and reachable during scheduled work windows.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation.
- Professional, calm, and guest-friendly demeanor.
- Comfortable working independently in high-end residential buildings.
- Handy enough to solve small issues without needing step-by-step direction.
- Able to lift, move, or adjust light furniture and household items.
- Prior experience in hospitality, property management, maintenance, inspections, moving, staging, cleaning supervision, or luxury service is a plus.
What Makes Someone Great in This Role
You notice things other people miss. You can walk into an apartment and immediately tell what feels off: a crooked chair, a missing towel, a weak WiFi signal, a dead remote, a messy cabinet, a burned-out bulb, or a guest experience issue waiting to happen.
You are polished enough to interact with guests, practical enough to fix small problems, and organized enough to report everything clearly. You do not need to be a licensed contractor, but you should be the kind of person who can figure things out, stay calm under pressure, and make the apartment better than you found it.
