EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position provides structured classroom and hands-on instruction in the electrical trade for inmates at SCI Chester. Your work will support facility operations wile helping learners build practical vocational abilities. As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
Classroom Instruction: Teach electrical trade practices and methods in a structured learning setting-
Hands-On Training: Guide inmates through real work assignments involving installation, repair, and maintenance tasks

Work Crew Oversight: Lead inmate work crews and review completed work for accuracy and safety

Materials Management: Issue, track, and account tools and materials used during training and work assignments, conduct searches as needed

Record Keeping: Document inmate attendance, progress, and assignment details

Safety Enforcement: Ensure safety practices are followed and maintain discipline during all training and work activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes). A higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
