Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
The Jack Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently moving product in and out of coolers, freezers, shipping areas, and other areas of the plant using an electric or manual jack. This role supports production, warehouse, and shipping operations by picking customer orders, transporting product, assembling merchandise for shipment, and ensuring the correct products are moved to the correct locations.
The Jack Operator plays an important role in maintaining product flow, supporting shipment accuracy, protecting product quality, and helping ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This position requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, communication with supervisors and team members, and the ability to work in a cold, damp, and fast-paced production environment.

Prior experience operating an electric jack, manual jack, pallet jack, or similar material handling equipment.
Prior warehouse, shipping, receiving, production, food processing, poultry processing, or inventory experience.
New team members must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Work is conducted primarily in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, cooler, freezer, and poultry production environment. This role requires access to the poultry production environment and may require working in damp, cold, wet, and chill conditions throughout the plant. The team member must be able to tolerate varying heat, wet, and chill conditions within the plant. Hearing and eye protective equipment are required in the production area. Hair and beard nets are required in the production area. Additional personal protective equipment may be required based on task, location, and safety requirements. This position requires constant walking throughout the plant while picking and delivering products. The role may also require standing, bending, lifting, carrying, operating material handling equipment, transporting product, working in coolers or freezers, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
