Cabin North is a Detroit taproom brewery planting roots in one of the city's most exciting and rapidly evolving corridors - steps from the new Henry Ford Hospital, the historic Motown Museum and fabulous restaurants & nightlife. We're building something special - a neighborhood gathering space, a destination for craft beer seekers across Metros Detroit, and a brewery with a point of view.
If you want to grow with a community-focused brewery from the ground up and leave your mark on Detroit's craft beer scene, we'd love to meet you! We are seeking attentive, hospitality-minded beertenders that are always looking to improve upon their professional skills. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding guest experiences and providing a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy Cabin North beverages.
This is a part-time, tipped position with a daily tip pool and we ensure everyone earns at least the equivalent of $13.73+/hour regardless of shift.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet every guest warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere
- Be knowledgeable of our offerings and guide guests through our menu, providing thoughtful recommendations
- Handle difficult guest situations professionally and with poise
- Build repeat guest relationships
- Properly pour and present our beverages
- Maintain a clean and safe facility
- Manage point of sale and additional operational needs
- Complete opening & closing procedures
- Give life to the CN brand by creating the best environment for the community to enjoy good company with an excellent beverage
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in a fast-paced bar or restaurant environment
- Impeccable communication and customer service skills
- TIPS and Foodhandlers certifications
- Able to push, pull, bend, and lift up to 50lbs
- You are self-motivated and able to work autonomously, with a focused and hardworking attitude
- Ability to multitask with a sense of urgency
- You are not afraid to speak your mind and share ideas
- Critical thinking
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed
- A passion and working knowledge of craft beer
- Certified Beer Server certification is preferable
