Main Street Moto is looking for a Motorcycle Parts & Service Advisor to join our team in Downtown Las Vegas.
We're not necessarily looking for someone who has spent their entire career behind a dealership service counter. Some of the best candidates for this position may have developed their knowledge through years of riding, maintaining, modifying, restoring and sourcing parts for their own motorcycles.
If you know motorcycles, enjoy helping riders, and are good at solving problems, we'd like to talk to you.
What You'll Do
As our Parts & Service Advisor, you'll be the connection between our customers, technicians, parts suppliers and the motorcycles in our shop.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Helping customers identify the right parts, accessories and service for their motorcycles
- Talking with customers about their motorcycle, concerns, goals and repair needs
- Creating and managing service repair orders
- Building estimates and communicating recommendations to customers
- Scheduling service work and helping manage workflow through the shop
- Keeping customers informed about the status of their motorcycles
- Researching and ordering OEM and aftermarket parts
- Using online resources, catalogs and parts diagrams to identify correct applications and part numbers
- Tracking down discontinued, vintage and hard-to-find parts
- Working closely with technicians to make sure they have the parts and information needed to complete jobs
- Following up on estimates, parts orders and service recommendations
- Helping customers select parts and accessories that fit their motorcycle, riding style and goals
- Maintaining accurate customer, motorcycle, parts and service information in our shop management system
Who We're Looking For
Professional motorcycle industry experience is valuable, but years spent riding, building and working on your own motorcycles can be valuable experience too.
You'll likely be a good fit if you:
- Have a strong working knowledge of motorcycles, parts and basic maintenance
- Ride motorcycles and are genuinely interested in motorcycle culture
- Can identify and work with a variety of motorcycle makes, models and generations
- Have experience researching and sourcing motorcycle parts
- Understand the difference between simply selling someone a part and helping them find the right solution
- Enjoy talking with customers and helping people
- Are comfortable communicating with both experienced technicians and riders who may know very little about motorcycle repair
- Are organized and can manage multiple customers, repair orders, parts requests and priorities at the same time
- Are comfortable using computers, internet research, parts catalogs and business software
- Communicate clearly by phone, text, email and in person
- Take ownership of problems and follow through until they're resolved
- Can adapt when schedules, parts availability and customer needs change
Motorcycle Industry Experience
We'd especially like to hear from candidates with experience in:
- Motorcycle dealerships or independent motorcycle shops
- Motorcycle parts departments
- Service advising or service writing
- Powersports parts or service
- Motorcycle repair or maintenance
- Building, modifying or restoring motorcycles
- Buying and selling motorcycle parts
- Vintage or hard-to-find parts sourcing
What Makes This Job Different
Main Street Moto is an independent motorcycle shop, not a large corporate dealership.
We work on an interesting mix of motorcycles—from vintage and classic bikes to modern Harley-Davidsons, sport bikes, metric motorcycles, dirt bikes and custom builds.
This is a position for someone who wants to be immersed in motorcycles and motorcycle culture every day.
You'll work alongside experienced technicians, help riders solve real problems, learn something new constantly, and become a trusted resource for our customers.
And Employee pricing on parts and accessories is a pretty nice perk.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Safely balance and move motorcycles weighing 500+ lbs.
- Spend portions of the workday standing and moving throughout the shop
A valid driver's license with motorcycle endorsement is required.
