Vegetation Technician/Weed Spraying
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vegetation Technician specializing in weed spraying to join our team. This role involves outdoor work focused on vegetation management and pest control through chemical application. The ideal candidate will have strong outdoor work experience, knowledge of pesticide application, and the ability to operate company vehicles safely. This position requires problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure effective and safe vegetation management across various sites. Long days on the road and physical endurance are essential for success in this role.
Duties
- Conduct outdoor vegetation management and weed control using appropriate pesticide and herbicide applications.
- Operate company vehicles efficiently and safely while traveling between job sites.
- Handle pest control chemicals responsibly, following all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Apply pesticides accurately and effectively to targeted areas, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
- Perform routine mechanical maintenance on spraying equipment and other tools to ensure optimal operation.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to chemical application or mechanical equipment in the field.
- Work long hours on-site and on the road, demonstrating stamina and resilience in various weather conditions.
- Document work activities accurately, including chemical usage, site conditions, and safety compliance.
Skills
- Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on vegetation management or related fields.
- Knowledge of pesticide and herbicide application techniques and safety procedures.
