Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Wellpoint Operator is to complete the setup, installation, maintenance, removal, and teardown of wellpoint systems at jobsites, and to assist in the mobilization and demobilization to and from jobsites. The Wellpoint Operator will generally work under the indirect supervision of Wellpoint Foreperson or higher. The Wellpoint Operator will serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete jobsite walks with a Wellpoint Operator II or higher and/or superintendent prior to starting work to ensure proper understanding of project requirements and spec; maintain open communication regarding changes to ensure the wellpoint activities meet project requirements

Enroll in Mersino’s Augur Rig certification program to learn to safely operate skid steers, excavators, and augur rigs under the supervision of a Wellpoint Foreman to learn about general equipment operation and maintenance, setup/teardown, utilizing the rig in various soil types, etc.

Assist in performing documented weekly inspections of the Augur Rig, Jet Pump and Jet Trailer; ensure daily visual inspections and maintenance are completed by a Wellpoint Technician

Prepare and submit daily well pointing reports under supervision of a Wellpoint Operator II or higher

Stock and maintain all necessary tools and supplies in jetting support trucks to ensure adequate availability on projects

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of soil types, classifications, and depths; have full knowledge on how to read prints to be able to complete wellpointing activities safely and efficiently

Identify locates and ensure the underground utilities safety processes and procedures are followed at all times; partner with sales or the Operations Manager to ensure an underground utility waiver is secured anytime wellpointing is to be performed outside of marked locates

Oversee wellpointing operational activities including utilizing the jetting tool to jet wells and dropping in wellpoints, handling hoses and other materials in support of wellpointing operations, and assembling the wellpoint system

Perform boot and clamp inspections, QA/QC procedures, wellpoint system tuning, system setup, and troubleshooting during operations and installments

Setup and teardown equipment and systems for assigned job operations

Haul CDL-A trailers including the jet trailer to and from site to support wellpointing operations; load, unload and transport materials and equipment to/from job sites

Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain pumps, pumping equipment, and generators including how to start, power up, monitor, inspect, etc.

Complete repairs of equipment on site as well as preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles or equipment as directed and as required

Ensure safe refueling activities are completed for equipment on site

Clean, organize and maintain jobsites, yard and shop areas as required

Adhere to applicable company and regulatory agency environmental, health and safety standards; ensure safe work practices at all times

Ensure all policies and procedures outlined in the Fleet Safety Program, including DOT requirements, are followed when driving a company vehicle

Assist in completing site safety activities such as JSA’s, safety observations, incident reports, etc.

Maintain and complete all necessary paperwork per company policy

Enroll in an OSHA 30 certification course

Complete a First-Aid/CPR certification course
-
Ensure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities

Perform other tasks and duties as requested
Qualifications:
- 6-9+ months of experience as a Wellpoint Technician I
-
Comprehensive knowledge of wellpoint system, installation and maintenance, or deep well dewatering field operations preferred

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid CDL-A license without airbrakes and a clean driving record

Valid DOT Medical Card

OSHA 10 Certification

Rigging & Signalperson Certification

Rough Terrain Forklift Certification
