Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Caregiver to provide exceptional support and personalized care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, home health, and long-term care facilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and clients by delivering attentive, respectful, and professional care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient observation, medication administration, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for those under their care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents and clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and well-being.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions closely, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Support residents with specialized needs including dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental disabilities through personalized care strategies.
- Operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting safely to prevent injury for both caregivers and residents.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, care plans, medication administration, and incident reports to ensure quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a caregiver in settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or deterioration.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in hospice care or dementia/Alzheimer’s care are preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for residents.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and assisting with resident transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach toward working with individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions. Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
