Overview
Job Description: Fabricates various materials (steel, titanium and aluminum) to engineering drawing requirements. The Fabrication Lead is a working lead responsible for overseeing the flow of materials, products, and work processes within a manufacturing or production facility. This includes running assigned fabrication machines, coordinating production schedules, optimizing workflow efficiency, ensuring the timely delivery of raw materials, and troubleshooting any disruptions in the production process. The role is crucial in improving throughput, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the facility meets production targets. Works closely with Program Management, Supply Chain, Quality and Engineering to ensure production orders are adequately released and scheduled to support customer requirements as well as various other support duties.
Responsibilities

- Understands different material types.
- Manipulates material with proper tooling.
- Uses Form Tooling/Templates to determine shapes of parts.
- Uses check fixtures for parts.
- Uses Pressbrakes, Hydro Presses, Punch Press and Roll Form equipment to fabricate parts out of various types of metal.
- Familiar with using pneumatic tools such as dotcos, straight grinders, polishing wheels, drill motors, orbital sanders.
- Reads calipers, micrometers, straight edges, radius gauges and protractors.
- Understands what flatness, straightness and angles are and how to form them.
- Understands allowed working time for forming.
- Knowledge of Tempers and Gauges of materials.
- Recognizes Corrosion and Burns after Heat Treat.
- Proper handling and containment of parts to be processes.
- Understands proper surface preparation.
- Coordinate the physical movement of materials, components, and finished products through the manufacturing and assembly process.
- Generate and distribute daily schedules.
- Review released jobs for issues/held for items and document in operation status notes.
- Interact with shop floor personnel as required in support of order fulfillment.
- Assist in scheduling/prioritizing workflow per shop / customer schedules.
- Perform WO splits as necessary to support production/ customer requirements.
- Cleaning up transactional data (journals), closing / open operations, adjusting pick quantities etc.
- Ensure that production processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

- Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Works well with hands and has knowledge of tools.

- Ability to use and operate a fork lift (certification required).
- Professional communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate well with co-workers on your shift plus other shifts.
- Must be able to listen, take direction as well as get along with co-workers.
- Must be able to do simple math.
- Familiar with and capable of using basic and specialty hand tools including precision measuring equipment.
- Attend and actively participate in training classes and safety sessions.
- Successfully complete all annual company required training.
- Wears required PPE at all times.
