During the initial training period, technicians will receive hourly compensation. Upon successful completion of training, compensation transitions to a commission-based pay structure, providing significant earning potential for top performers.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, mini-splits, and ventilation equipment.
- Install new HVAC systems according to manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, tune-ups, and inspections to maximize equipment efficiency and lifespan.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents.
- Test electrical components using diagnostic tools, including multimeters and ohmmeters.
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend repair or replacement solutions to customers.
- Perform component replacement, equipment repairs, and system upgrades as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company procedures, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate service records, job notes, and customer documentation.
- Operate company vehicles safely while traveling to customer locations.
- Collaborate with installation teams, dispatchers, and management to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist with related mechanical, plumbing, and property maintenance tasks when required.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on HVAC technologies, products, and industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of HVAC service experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing residential HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with refrigeration principles, airflow diagnostics, and HVAC controls.
- EPA Certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift equipment, work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor conditions as required.
