Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring seamless warehouse packing operations. Your expertise in inventory management, shipping logistics, and warehouse procedures will help maintain optimal stock levels and support timely order fulfillment. Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify inbound shipments against purchase orders using
- Managing vendor/carrier relationships, rates, policies and expectations
- warehouse management systems and RF scanners.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and documenting orders accurately using inventory management software.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts (certification preferred), and order pickers to load and unload trucks efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of all shipping and receiving activities, including data entry into ERP system FISHBOWL
- Coordinate with logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards.
- Manage stock levels through inventory management practices, conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies promptly.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock in designated areas, stocking shelves, and preparing items for shipment or storage.
- Assist with packaging products securely for shipment, adhering to safety standards and customer specifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing shipping inquiries, tracking orders, and resolving issues swiftly in addition to proessing claims
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during load & unload operations while operating equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.Skills
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving processes and inventory management software.
- Proficiency in Google Suite application for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Experience with warehouse management systems
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order quantities, weights, measurements, and data entry tasks.
- Skilled in order fulfillment techniques including picking & packing, order picking, and packaging for shipment.
- Familiarity with shipping logistics procedures for domestic and international trade compliance regulations.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (certified preferred), RF scanners, pallet jacks, and trade compliance tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate stock levels and order accuracy.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, carriers, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
