Duties
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify product specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections utilizing vision inspection systems and other advanced inspection tools to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and production documents to ensure accurate quality assessments.
- Execute quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and FDA regulations to maintain compliance across production processes.
- Collect and analyze data related to dimensional measurements, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and other quality metrics for reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and improve overall product quality.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, measurement results, and audit findings in compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and GDT specifications.
- Proficiency with measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, vision systems, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485), GMP practices, HACCP principles, and FDA regulations related to manufacturing processes.
- Ability to perform precise dimensional measurements and analysis using precision measurement tools.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) including QA/QC procedures and quality audits.
- Basic math skills for data collection and analysis; attention to detail is essential.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills for defect identification and resolution.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting findings clearly and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
