Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene practices, patient education, and infection control. As a vital member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing preventive dental care, assisting with patient assessments, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal assessments to maintain optimal oral health.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and personalized dental care plans.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Monitor vital signs and review medical histories to ensure patient safety during treatment.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and document treatment procedures thoroughly.
- Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care tailored to children’s needs.
- Expertise in dental x-ray procedures and general dentistry practices.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and patient education.
- Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail in documentation review and medical coding practices.
