American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Emergency Department for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and OH/compact RN license.

General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patient population
-
Level I Trauma Center, STEMI-certified, and Stroke-certified facility
-
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
-
Patient ratio of 1:3.5
-
Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication dispensing
-
Float required
-
Weekend rotation required every other or every third weekend
-
13-week assignment length
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
-
Minimum 2 years of ER experience required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
-
CPI certification preferred
-
Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility experience preferred
-
Comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
-
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and administering emergency medications and IV vasopressors
-
Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
-
Able to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted
-
Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
-
36 hours of orientation provided

Navy scrubs required

First-time travelers are accepted

Locals are accepted at the same rate

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
-
Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
-
RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
-
Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract due to compliance deadlines
