Position Summary
The Automation Software Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, testing, commissioning, and supporting industrial automation systems for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing projects. The position focuses on Allen-Bradley PLCs, Emerson DeltaV SCADA & Controller, and Siemens S7-1200/S7-1500 controllers using TIA Portal. The engineer will also support system integration, AutoCAD electrical drawings, control panel modifications, software development, commissioning, troubleshooting, and on-site technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and maintain industrial automation systems using Allen-Bradley PLCs, Emerson DeltaV SCADA & Controller, and Siemens S7-1200/S7-1500 controllers with TIA Portal.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and HMI software.
- Configure and maintain Emerson DeltaV control systems and operator interfaces.
- Prepare and update AutoCAD electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, and related engineering documents.
- Support control panel assembly, wiring modifications, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Perform equipment installation, startup, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and system testing.
- Troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI, electrical control panels, instrumentation, and industrial communication systems.
- Modify and optimize control logic and automation software based on project requirements.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for customers.
- Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, technicians, and customers to complete projects safely and on schedule.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of automation systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, operation manuals, and test reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation or control systems.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000 / RSLogix).
- Experience with Siemens S7-1200/S7-1500 controllers using TIA Portal.
- Experience with Emerson DeltaV SCADA & Controller.
- Experience with PLC programming, SCADA/HMI software development, and system commissioning.
- Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Experience with electrical control panel modification, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with equipment startup, commissioning, and field support.
- Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Experience with FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, Wonderware, or Pro-face.
- Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, and OPC communication protocols.
- Experience with SQL databases or industrial data collection systems.
- Experience with control panel fabrication or field wiring.

The Project Manager must be able to work on-site at the TSMC facility and comply with all site access, safety, and security requirements.
