Clinical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
Provides exceptional customer service, with excellent chair-side manner
Understands the patient is the number one priority
Prepare and participate in daily huddles to ensure the day flows smoothly
Maintain HIPAA compliance
Take direction from doctor(s); assist them with all procedures and anticipate their needs
Review patient records prior to doctor’s arrival, log appropriate patient data and health history during
oral exam, as well as transcribe doctor’s notes
Deliver and adjust appliances when appropriate
Seat patient and inform doctor when patient is ready
Take accurate and complete patient records to include blood pressure, weight, health history changes,
radiographs, intra-oral and extra-oral photographs, manual and digital impressions as necessary
Perform laser therapy for patients as appropriate
Ensure all oral exam paperwork is completed; track any incomplete exams and advise doctor of any
outstanding head and neck forms.
Ensure all RXs are received to ensure patients receive products in a timely manner; advise doctor of any
outstanding RXs.
Oversee and track the incoming and outgoing lab cases to ensure accurate, quality, timely products for
our patients; check schedule 1 week in advance for any overdue lab cases; follow up with labs to rectify
any missing cases to ensure the best experience for our patients
Clean, sterilize and prepare the dental equipment, tools and operatory prior to and after each patient’s
appointment appropriately; properly stow equipment when not in use
Cross-train employees on clinical tasks
Educate patients as appropriate, address patient questions and/or concerns
Give patient post-procedural instructions as applicable; answer any questions the patient may have
Scan and upload cases to VIVOS; make follow up calls on these cases to ensure they are received by the
lab in a timely manner to ensure no delays for the patients
When not directly assisting a patient or the doctor, assist front desk with answering phones by the third
ring in a courteous manner
Assist front office with scheduling patient’s follow-up visits
Monitor the level of dental supplies in the office to ensure the correct supplies are always available
Ensure office safety policies and procedures are followed in compliance with OSHA guidelines and
BBP (blood-borne Pathogens) federal regulations
Travel as needed for training and to perform job functions
Complete all tasks as assigned

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour

Experience:
- Dental assisting: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
