Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Service Technician specializing in Wet Work to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a variety of floor services including but not limited to Sweep, Mop & Buff, Deep Scrubs, Scrub & Recoat, Strip & Wax, Carpet Extraction, Carpet Shampooing of various flooring surfaces within commercial and institutional environments. Your expertise in floor care and wet cleaning techniques will ensure our facilities meet the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors using appropriate methods such as mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and polishing to maintain a pristine appearance.
- Conduct carpet cleaning procedures including vacuuming, steaming, and stain removal to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Apply floor care treatments like waxing, or buffing to extend the longevity of flooring surfaces.
- Handle wet work tasks such as water extraction, and sanitation of restrooms and glass cleaning..
- Follow safety protocols during all wet work activities to prevent slips, falls, or other accidents.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, supplies used, and maintenance activities for accountability and quality assurance.
- Ensure all janitorial equipment is properly maintained and stored after use to support ongoing operational efficiency.
Skills
- Must have reliable transportation and be able and willing to travel to job sites in the Ulster, Duchess, Sullivan, Orange Counties and surrounding areas. THIS POSITION REQUIRES SERVICING RETAIL STORES IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TRANSPORTATION DO NOT APPLY.
- Prefer experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services with a focus on floor care and wet work tasks however willing to train the right candidates.
- Prefer knowledge of cleaning techniques for various flooring types including tile, vinyl, hardwood, and carpeted surfaces but willing to train the right individuals.
- Ability to operate or be able to learn to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, extractors, steam cleaners, and carpet shampooers safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks involving bending, lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with environmental services best practices and safety regulations related to wet work activities.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance issues promptly. Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
