Skyview Detroit has an opening for a Carpenter / Installer. This position includes installation of Motorized Pergolas and Screens / Sunroom / Decks
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all jobs are built plumb, square, and comply with engineering specifications as well as regulatory code requirements
- Review contract folder and all instructions/drawings before leaving on assignments to clarify work to be completed
- Interact with customers in a professional manner, while maintaining the integrity of the company
- Assist Production Manager in contributing to meeting company standards and achieving departmental goals
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years prior experience in construction and skilled labor involving carpentry, roofing, window installation or similiar
- High School diploma or GED required, associate's degree or trade school experience in construction or related field preferred
- Experience in the use of a brake, and other hand tools such as a utility knife, hammer, cordless drills, etc
- Clean driving record with car in good driving condition to get to and from job sites
- Construction related mathematical skills,
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred experience:
· Deck building/ modification
· Concrete/ foundations
· Siding
· Roofing
· Framing
· Custom metal/ flashing
· Caulking (weatherproofing and cosmetic)
· Use of various power such as table saw, miter saw, circular saw, reciprocating saw, drills,
· Use of hands tools such as hammers, pry bars, levels, metal break, tape measure,
· Reading basic architectural drawings
Performance abilities:
· Elevated work; scaffolding, ladders, roofs
· Lift heavy materials 80lbs+
· Perform elevated tasks requiring agility
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
