Post Harvest Technician
Position Summary
The Post Harvest Technician supports daily drying, curing, trimming, and fresh-frozen processing operations. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, focused on maintaining product quality and following precise SOPs during a critical window where terpene and cannabinoid integrity can be gained or lost. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic and trainable attitude — prior cannabis experience is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Harvest, hang, and process plant material according to SOPs and daily task assignments
- Execute fresh-frozen procedures using dry ice or -80°C freezer protocols as directed
- Monitor dry room and cure room conditions; report deviations to the Post Harvest Manager
- Trim, weigh, and package biomass and flower per METRC and internal SOP requirements
- Accurately log wet weights, dry weights, and waste amounts for METRC entry
- Maintain a clean, sanitized workspace; follow cross-contamination prevention protocols
- Handle dry ice safely, including proper PPE use and awareness of CO2 off-gassing hazards in enclosed spaces
- Inspect material for mold, pests, or quality issues and flag to supervisor immediately
- Assist with inventory organization (totes, bins, labeling) and consumable restocking
- Support facility compliance by following waste disposal and surveillance-area protocols
- Perform other post-harvest duties as assigned, including support during peak harvest volume
Qualifications
- No prior experience required — we prioritize attitude, reliability, and trainability
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal SOPs consistently
- Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods
- Basic math skills for weight tracking and unit conversions
- Team-oriented with strong attention to detail
- Must pass OMC-required background check (no disqualifying offenses under KRS 218B.010(11))
- Must be 21+ years of age
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Extended periods standing, sitting, and repetitive hand motion (trimming)
- Tolerance for cold room and freezer environments with provided PPE
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
