Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Operations and Maintenance Supervisor, where you will lead and oversee the maintenance and operational activities of industrial facilities. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial systems. You will manage maintenance teams, develop and implement repair procedures, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement in facility performance while maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of facilities maintenance teams, ensuring timely completion of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial system repairs.
- Ensure all operations comply with EPA, OSHA, and federal building codes.
- Conduct regular inspections of life safety, fire suppression, and emergency power generator systems.
- Oversee troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems using schematics, electrical diagrams, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards by implementing safety protocols and conducting regular safety training for maintenance staff.
- Lead project management initiatives for system upgrades or repairs, coordinating resources effectively to meet deadlines.
- Utilize tools like ohmmeters and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues accurately.
- Manage facilities maintenance teams by providing leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing work environment.
- Monitor and inspect third-party contracted facility services to ensure strict compliance with federal work standards.
- Serve as an emergency responder for utility failures, structural damage, and safety alarms.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in direct operation and maintenance of assets in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven management experience supervising facilities or industrial maintenance teams in manufacturing or similar environments.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including HVAC systems (repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning units), plumbing systems, electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), and industrial machinery.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in manufacturing automation processes.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations such as OSHA standards related to industrial maintenance operations.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee complex maintenance projects from start to finish.
- Mechanical troubleshooting expertise utilizing schematics and electrical testing tools like ohmmeters to diagnose issues efficiently.
- Excellent team management skills with a focus on supervising diverse technical staff while promoting safety compliance and operational excellence.
- Knowledge of engineering troubleshooting techniques applicable to mechanical and electrical systems within manufacturing facilities is essential.
