Job Title Quality Control Inspector
Overview: Provide quality support to the Production department by inspecting, accepting, rejecting, or placing on hold products which conform or do not conform to written procedures and customer requirements.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0-1 year QC inspection or related work experience in a production environment
- Ability to operate measurement/test equipment devices to assess part acceptability
- Basic mathematical skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide and work with decimals and fractions)
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
- Ability to work with basic measurement tools such as CMM, Optical Comparator, VIS/Visual Inspection System, calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, height gauges, dial indicators, trimming knife, de-burring tools, and other hand-held tools
- Able to partner with production supervisor and technical team members to resolve dimensional or cosmetic issues with parts
- Able to read prints and understand dimension specifications and tolerancing
- Strong attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- Partner with production supervisors, machine operators, and Quality team members to ensure SOPs/QIPs are followed and acceptable products are manufactured.
- Perform inspection tasks per the Quality Inspection Plan (QIP) for parts produced.
- Accurately document findings on Quality Inspection Plan (QIP).
- Communicate immediately with production supervisor, machine operators, and Quality manager when non-conforming parts are produced and/or identified.
- Operate weigh scales, calculator, and inspection tools to accurately inspect product.
- Initiate and write “Hold” tags for non-conforming product.
- Approve press samples for products and acquire necessary approvals from process technician.
- Perform product/process audits and make observations/recommendations to improve processes and procedures.
- Perform final inspections for visual defects and proper labeling on parts produced.
