Instructional Designer
Location: Pershing 6003 Pershing Avenue, Orlando, FL, 32812
Type: 1 year contract on W2 - This position will be hybrid, with three days in the office and two days working from home.
Position Overview
The instructional designer will collaborate with the project team, end-users and OUC technical training department as applicable, to develop an online training plan and then develop the appropriate online, interactive training modules in accordance with OUC//'s learning management system, using sound instructional design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct needs analysis to determine effective strategies and tools to address training needs
- Develop self-paced eLearning modules for OUC//'s technical training department
- Develop professionally written, user-friendly eLearning self-paced training modules, including interactive learning activities, learning assessments, certifications, etc. using sound instructional design principles

Skills Required
- Familiarity with all, but not limited to the following:
- Camera, video camera and audio production
- Script and storyboard writing
- Training completion/transcript reports
- Various OUC/HR policies that require training
- Related industry, organizational and departmental regulatory guidelines, best practices, and procedures
Skills Preferred
- Manage multiple learning projects
- Utilize standard industry design and evaluation models (ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation)
- Collaborate with diverse subject matter experts across the Commission
- Provide written project plans and updates
- Create eLearning storyboards
- Create visually effective job aids and other written materials to support training
- Be a self-starter, work under limited supervision
- Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.)
Experience Required
- Minimum of three (3) years of instructional design and/or technical writing experience, to include:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience designing and developing eLearning courses
- Minimum of one (1) year serving in an administrator role for a corporate LMS (Cornerstone OnDemand, preferred systems)
Experience Preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of instructional design and/or technical writing experience, to include:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience designing and developing eLearning courses
- Minimum of two (2) year serving in an administrator role for a corporate LMS (Cornerstone OnDemand, preferred systems)
Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resources or related field of study from an accredited college or university
Education Preferred
Master//'s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resources or related field of study from an accredited college or university
Additional Information
The position will be hybrid, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office. 7am to 330pm. Monday and Friday the person can work from home or at the Pershing office.
