Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a brand-new dental office. Your expertise will support general dentistry procedures, contributing to positive patient experiences and optimal clinical outcomes. As an RDA, you will play a vital role in maintaining infection control standards, managing medical documentation, and supporting the overall workflow of the dental practice. Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions with precision and professionalism
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed diligently
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools
- Manage patient records in Open Dental
- Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas meet OSHA standards for safety and cleanliness
- Assist with medical documentation and coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and record-keeping
- Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote ongoing wellness
- Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist—scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently
Experience
- Dental Assistant with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice
- Hands-on experience with EMR system Open Dental
- Skilled in chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency during procedures
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely while maintaining compliance with radiation safety standards
- Good understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical records management related to dental care
- Familiarity with advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and other imaging devices is advantageous
