Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks and support the culinary team as needed
- Buse tables and clear plates to maintain a clean dining area during service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, sinks, and manual handling tools
- Support sanitation efforts by maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, prep areas, and storage spaces in accordance with health standards
- Handle heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, and dishware while adhering to proper manual handling techniques
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for everyone
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food handling and safety protocols
- Strong understanding of sanitation procedures and food safety management practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items regularly
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with food preparation processes are a plus
- Experience in catering or culinary roles demonstrating attention to detail in food safety and cleanliness
- Knowledge of hospitality standards and commitment to maintaining high kitchen health standards
