TINDREL AI
Reliable AI for the work that matters.
About Tindrel AI
Tindrel AI exists to make artificial intelligence something people can actually trust at work. Too many AI tools fall apart the moment real stakes are involved—so we build the layer that grounds AI in an organization’s own knowledge, keeps it safe, and proves its quality, turning impressive demos into systems that teams can depend on every day. We believe the people who build that future shouldn’t all come from the same places. We hire for skill, curiosity, and drive rather than pedigree, and we are committed to opening real on-ramps into technology careers—especially for people who learned their craft through community college, the military, apprenticeships, and hands-on experience.

About the role
You’ll write real, production code from your first months at Tindrel, building features alongside senior engineers who are invested in your growth. This is an apprenticeship-minded role designed for people who learned to build through a technical or community-college program, a coding apprenticeship, or focused self-teaching—not necessarily a four-year computer science degree. If you can show that you can code, learn fast, and care about doing it well, we want to talk.
We pair every early-career engineer with a mentor, protect time for learning, and review your work closely so you grow quickly. Over your first 12–18 months you’ll move from well-scoped, guided tasks to owning features end-to-end.
What you’ll do
- Ship real features. Build and test features across our application—front-end interfaces in TypeScript/React and back-end services in Python or TypeScript—starting small and growing into larger work.
- Learn the AI stack. Work hands-on with the building blocks of AI applications (prompts, retrieval, evaluation) with senior engineers guiding you.
- Write it down. Add tests, documentation, and a clear commit history so your work is dependable and easy to review.
- Fix and improve. Investigate bugs, propose fixes, and learn the codebase by making it better.
- Grow deliberately. Meet regularly with your mentor, set learning goals, and work toward the Software Engineer track.
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated ability to write code in at least one language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C++, or similar), shown through coursework, certifications, or projects.
- A genuine interest in software and AI, and the discipline to learn quickly and ask good questions.
- Care for quality: you read error messages, test your work, and want to understand why something works.
- Clear written communication and reliability as a teammate.
- A high school diploma or equivalent—plus evidence you can build. No four-year degree required.
Backgrounds and certifications we value (none required)
- Coursework or a training program in programming, web development, or information technology.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as Information Technology Specialist (Python, JavaScript, Java, Software, or HTML & CSS), Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer (PCEP), Oracle Java Foundations Associate, or Apple Swift Associate.
- A community-college course sequence, a coding bootcamp or registered apprenticeship, college coursework, or a GitHub/portfolio of things you’ve built.
Where this role can lead
This is the first rung of our engineering ladder. With mentorship and demonstrated growth, the path runs Associate Software Developer → Software Engineer → Senior Software Engineer. We fund the certifications and learning that help you climb it.
Working at Tindrel
How we hire
We evaluate skills, not credentials-on-paper. Expect a practical, hands-on assessment that reflects the real work—so a strong portfolio, a project you built, or a certification you earned counts for as much as where (or whether) you went to college. We provide reasonable accommodations throughout the process; just let us know what you need.
Compensation & growth
The range above reflects base pay for candidates hired in Houston and comparable markets; actual offers depend on demonstrated skill and certifications. Every full-time role includes equity, and we fund the certifications, training, and paid learning time that help you advance along the path described above.
Equal opportunity
Tindrel AI is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to an inclusive environment for all employees. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic.
