Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, utilizing psychopharmacology principles and current clinical guidelines.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating therapy, medication management, and patient education.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.
- Provide crisis intervention and triage services for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes or emergencies.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies.
Experience
- Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP-BC preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings, including outpatient clinics or inpatient facilities.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring tools to deliver virtual care effectively.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication management for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, and co-occurring conditions.
- Experience working with diverse populations across age groups—children, adolescents, adults, seniors—and understanding their unique mental health needs.
- Proficiency in medical documentation standards and compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
