We are seeking a motivated and skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Concordia University Irvine. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across our facilities. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure, supporting our commitment to operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from routine maintenance from large commercia building to dorm rooms, utilizing your technical skills and industry knowledge to keep our operations running smoothly. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage (120/277) circuits, ensuring compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, schematics, and blueprint reading to identify faults accurately.
- Install and upgrade electrical wiring, fixtures, motors, and control panels in various settings such as manufacturing plants or commercial facilities.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction blueprints to execute installation and repair tasks precisely.
- Conduct renovations and upgrades on existing electrical infrastructure while adhering to safety protocols and building codes.
- Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation troubleshooting and system optimization.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for accountability and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven industrial electrician with a minimum of 10 years' experience with a solid understanding of electrical systems in commercial or manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage and high voltage (120 277) electrical systems; familiarity with NEC standards is essential.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, schematics, blueprints reading, and construction site experience.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems troubleshooting.
- Experience with renovation projects involving electrical upgrades or modifications within existing structures.
- Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately; frame carpentry or handyman experience is a plus.
- Strong safety awareness with the ability to work on construction sites safely while following all relevant regulations.
