The Position
We’re looking for a Building Engineer to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our commercial properties across the DMV area. In this hands on role, you’ll travel between multiple properties to maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems, ensuring all equipment functions efficiently and complies with local codes and standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate and maintain building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security/life safety.
- Perform and document routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors and service contractors.
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests and building emergencies.
- Track and schedule State-mandated inspections for critical systems.
- Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with other engineers.
- Assist with building systems troubleshooting and repairs (VAVs, etc.).
- Submit daily work reports and meet regularly with vendors and contractors.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of commercial building maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites as needed.
- Flexible schedule availability, including nights and weekends when on-call.
- Experience with VAV troubleshooting and repair preferred.
Education & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of the role.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $33.00 - $36.00 per hour
