Event Bartender
Location: The Upstairs

Schedule: Evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
Position Overview
The Event Bartender is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and professional beverage service during weddings, private parties, corporate gatherings, and other special events. This role helps create a welcoming guest experience while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar.
The ideal candidate is dependable, personable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to providing excellent service. Because each event is different, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up the bar before each event, including beverages, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, tools, and supplies.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages according to venue standards and event selections.
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout the event.
- Verify identification and follow all applicable alcohol-service laws and venue policies.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and communicate concerns to the Event Manager when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar during service.
- Replenish beverages, ice, glassware, and other supplies as needed.
- Collect and dispose of empty cups, bottles, cans, and bar-related waste.
- Assist with closing duties, including cleaning, inventorying supplies, breaking down the bar, and properly storing products and equipment.
- Communicate professionally with venue staff, event coordinators, caterers, vendors, and guests.
- Follow event timelines and instructions provided by the Event Manager or Lead Bartender.
- Help maintain a polished, guest-ready appearance throughout the venue.
- Assist with light event setup, cleanup, or guest-service duties when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending, serving, hospitality, catering, or event experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cocktails, beer, wine, mixers, and responsible alcohol service.
- Must meet all legal age requirements for serving alcohol.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to remain calm, professional, and courteous in a busy event environment.
- Comfortable following specific event instructions, beverage packages, and venue procedures.
- Must have reliable transportation and be available for evening and weekend events.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, carry trays, move beverage cases, and transport bar supplies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that may include indoor and outdoor event spaces.
Schedule Expectations
This is an event-based position with hours determined by the venue’s event schedule. Most shifts will take place on evenings and weekends. Shift lengths may vary based on event setup, service time, and cleanup requirements.
