About Us
Casa Galú is an upscale, 5-suite boutique hotel located where the lush jungle meets the Caribbean Sea. With two standalone cabins and three private rooms all extended from the side of the mountain into the treetops, and overlooking the blue Caribbean waters, guests are immersed in an impressive natural setting where mountain, jungle, and maritime ecosystems collide.
Galú means “sacred land” in the native Kuna tribe’s language. At Casa Galú, our mission is to preserve our biodiversity and provide an impactful experience for each guest by connecting them to the natural surroundings, and providing legendary service. Fully operational since 2021, we constructed the hotel to not only be minimally invasive to the surrounding land and wildlife, but to actually highlight the existing landscape and ecosystem services. We have ensured that our construction and ongoing operation adhere to up-to-date sustainability and regenerative standards and practices.
Here, there is a magical feeling to experience, and a story to tell. We don't just want to post on social media; we want to capture the feeling of the jungle mist, the crashing of the sea waves, and the taste of the local cuisine. That’s where you come in.
The Role
We are looking for a visually gifted, self-motivated Social Media & Content Creator to perform in-person and remote tasks, and become the visual storyteller of Casa Galú. This role asks for on-site participation to experience and document the excitement of the local activities and hotel operations, as well as post-stay follow up responsibilities to be completed remotely. One day you will be hiking to a hidden waterfall to film an adventure Reel; the next, you’ll be collaborating with our kitchen team to capture a candlelit house-made dinner. The goal is to capture the essence of the guest’s stay both at the hotel, and while adventuring around Capurganá and the surrounding villages.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience local attractions and excursion offerings: Hike to Panamá; snorkel the blue Caribbean waters; explore the area’s various beaches; sightsee with howler monkeys, birds, and other diverse wildlife; bask in sun-lit natural pools; and much more!
- Content Creation: Shotlist, shoot, and edit 4–5 high-quality Reels/TikToks per week, prioritizing raw aesthetics, satisfying ASMR, and cinematic travel vlogs.
- Grid Curation: Maintain an impeccably aesthetic Instagram grid that reflects our "earth luxury" brand guidelines (warm tones, deep greens, natural lighting).
- Storytelling & Live Coverage: Manage daily Instagram Stories capturing the authentic, spontaneous moments of “Galú life” (wildlife sightings, guest arrivals, lighting changes throughout the day).
- Future Content Preparation: Compile photos and videos along with pre-written posts to be put into a calendar for future posting. This content includes, but is not limited to, upcoming holidays (Colombian and major international), staff spotlight stories, hotel sustainability initiatives, discounted rate campaigns, and general nature and hotel shots.
- Community Management: Engage with our audience in the DMs and comments daily, answering incoming travel/booking questions with warmth and local expertise. Lean on management team for questions you are not able to answer.
- Creator Partnerships: Help vet incoming influencer and content creator collaboration requests to ensure their audience aligns with our target demographics. Actively seek influencers to come stay at Casa Galú.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
- A Stellar Portfolio: You have an eye for composition, lighting, and pacing. You know how to make mobile video look cinematic, intentional, and high-end.
- Technical Savvy: Expert-level proficiency with mobile editing apps (CapCut, Lightroom Mobile, InShot, or other editing app) and a deep understanding of Instagram and TikTok algorithms, trending audio, and SEO tags.
- The Right Attitude: You are independent, but able to collaborate with management team; you are resourceful, and genuinely excited about capturing the essence of a remote jungle environment. You don't mind the occasional tropical downpour or sharing space with local wildlife.
- Language Skills: Professional working proficiency in English is required (as most of our guests are international; about 60-65%). Intermediate to advanced Spanish is highly preferred to collaborate effectively with our hotel staff and local community, and appeal to our Colombian market.
- Equipment: You own a high-quality smartphone (iPhone 14 Pro/Equivalent or newer) and a reliable laptop for editing. (A drone or mirrorless camera is a massive plus, but not required).
Perks & Compensation
We believe in taking incredible care of the people who tell our story. This job package includes:
- Accommodation: 2-week in-person stay is free to you. Your own private, beautifully designed accommodation with a private en-suite and a hammock overlooking the jungle canopy and Caribbean Sea. If you desire to extend this stay, an additional discount may be considered for the extended period.
- Meals: Two meals a day (breakfast and dinner) prepared by our on-property culinary team, plus unlimited Colombian-local organic coffee. Meals will not be included in any extended stay periods.
- Stipend: An activity stipend of $400,000.00 COP to cover excursion and activity experiences.
- Workspace: Access to our main lounge equipped with high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi.
- Discount for Friend or Family Member: Bring a friend or family member to enjoy the experience together during your stay! Specific discount to be negotiated based on time of year.
- Project Completion Payment: A $500 USD payment to be made at the completion of the full project term. This payment is dependent on the majority completion of Key Responsibilities. Measurement of completion to be agreed upon by you and Employer upon signing a contract.
