Job Summary:
The Rescue Mission Thrift Store is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. As the cashier, you must have open availability and be willing to play a key role in delivering excellent service to our shoppers while supporting the mission of the Downtown Rescue Mission through retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Greet customers with a positive and helpful attitude
· Operate a cash register and accurately process sales transactions
· Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods
· Bag or package purchases neatly and efficiently
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area
· Assist in restocking and displaying merchandise as needed
· Answer customer questions and provide information about store items and pricing
· Follow store policies and procedures
· Support a safe and respectful shopping environment for all customers
· Represent the mission and values of the Downtown Rescue Mission at all times
Qualifications:
· Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Basic math skills and attention to detail
· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
· Punctual, reliable, and able to work in a team-oriented environment
