Position Summary
The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within an assigned production area, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. This role serves as the primary point of support for production employees by coordinating workflow, providing hands-on leadership, and promoting quality, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations within the assigned production area to ensure workflow efficiency and production goals are achieved.
- Ensure materials and supplies are available to maintain continuous production.
- Identify, communicate, and help resolve production downtime to minimize operational disruptions.
- Coordinate employee breaks and lunches while maintaining adequate production coverage.
- Assist supervisors and managers with staffing coordination, task assignments, and operational priorities.
- Train employees on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, quality standards, and best practices while providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Monitor product quality and ensure production processes meet company standards.
- Maintain workplace organization within the department.
- Promote a safe work environment by reinforcing safety procedures and addressing potential hazards promptly.
- Monitor production performance and communicate opportunities for improving efficiency, productivity, and overall operational excellence.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Team Lead, Line Lead, Shift Lead, Supervisor, or other leadership role in a manufacturing, food production, packaging, warehouse, or distribution environment.
- Food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate employees while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including overtime or weekends as business needs require.
