Happy Kids Camps and Enrichment classes seeks Experienced Children's specialty enrichment class instructors for 1 hour classes taught in elementary schools, M-F afternoons between 2:00 and 4:30pm
Ages 4.5-10yrs
Locations of schools in Walnut Creek, Piedmont, Berkeley, Pinole
$80-$110/per class depending on experience
+ for craft classes due to extra prep and clean up time required
Current class openings include:
Spanish 4.5-8yrs
Pickleball( 7-10 yrs)
Ukulele(4.5-11 yrs)
Crafts and Fitness Cooperation Games( 4.5-8 yrs)
Crafts, Clay and Jewelry( 6-10 yrs)

Requirements:

*Minimum 5 years experience teaching 10+ students/class as the sole instructor, ages 4-10yrs. * If less than 5 yrs experience, some assistant classes are available.
*Available to teach 1-5 afternoons/week, minus school holidays,
Aug 17-Dec 17 2026 ( most classes begin the week of 9/14)
*Excellent classroom management skills
*Personal transportation to/from class locations, including supplies needed for the class.
*Ability to store specific class supplies provided by Happy Kids throughout the session
*Excellent communication skills, and willingness to check email daily. Communications will lessen as the session gets started.
*Fingerprints, background check and negative TB test
*1st interview, 30 mins on Zoom, 2nd interview will include teaching students in person with the owner(15mins).
*One, in person training session(first is scheduled for Sat. 8/22, and more dates will be added as needed).

Experience teaching after school enrichment classes is HIGHLY preferred, but these classes are SPECIALTY Enrichment Classes, so applicants need to be trained and/or educated in the class styles they are applying to teach!
All Classes are taught one day per week, M-F at various elementary schools. Most classes begin between 2:15 and 3:25 and end by 4:25pm. Often there is only one class per afternoon available, although sometimes 2 back to back.

Pay: $80.00 - $110.00 per hour

- Which city would you most likely be starting your commute from? How many miles are you willing to drive to teach a 1 hour class?
We try to find schools that offer 2 classes back to back, but many only offer 1 time slot after school.
- Are you willing and able to store and transport Happy Kid's equipment and supplies required for the classes you will teach weekly?
- Do you drive a car? Equipment needs to be transported to classes, including a few larger items for certain classes, ie. nets, multiple instruments
- Which styles of classes, and for how many years have you taught group classes of 4-10 yr olds? How many were in your largest class that you lead on your own( no assistant)?
- Which afternoons will you be available, M-F, between 1:30 and 4:30pm, through December 17th? Many classes begin around 2:15, but some begin as early as 1:30pm. Most classes are 1 hr with a couple exceptions. We Do Not offer Saturday classes.
